Stroll through the mesmerizing displays as you follow in the footsteps of Koda, a fearless 8-year-old boy, and join in his journey throughout the magical ocean. The larger-than-life illuminated lanterns evoke the imagination and make memories that will last a lifetime for you and your children. Unlike anything you have ever seen, this festival will be one to visit time after time while the Stockton Ball Park hosts this magnificent display of lanterns.

It is truly an adventure for all ages to wander through the breathtaking art installations, attentively hand crafted by lantern artisans using the ancient technique of traditional Chinese lantern making. With a rich history spanning over 2,000 years, this extraordinary art form brings together tens of thousands of vibrant LED lights, an exquisite palette of colors, and a fusion of metal and fabric. Upon every turn in your journey a new impressive creature seemingly comes to life before your eyes. Boasting hundreds of larger-than-life lanterns with the tallest being 50 feet high and the longest nearly 100 feet wide, 20,000 LED bulbs and over 82,000 feet of light rope and 11,500 feet of fabric are used to create this extraordinary event. The lantern displays are designed and handcrafted by the artisan team of Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., the biggest lantern festival producer in the U.S.

The visual experience of the Magic Ocean is accompanied by live stage performances showcasing an eclectic array of musical talent, dance and acrobatics. This spectacular display of lights will leave you with feelings of joy, serenity, and inspiration. December 31 - Fireworks - The Stockton Lantern Festival happily announces a fireworks display to take place on New Years Eve, December 31st. The firework show will light up the downtown Stockton sky once Stockton Lantern Festival goes dark at 10pm.
January 6 - Sensory Friendly Night - This extraordinary event will have a night to be sensitive and inclusive for those on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with sensitivity issues or developmental delays.

Event Times:
5PM to 10PM daily, last ticket sold at 9PM. Please give yourself around 1 hour and a half to enjoy the phenomenal view. Take as little or as much time as you wish during operational hours to fully experience the festival.
*STARTING 1/1/25 - Gates will open at 5:30pm and the acrobatic performance times will be adjusted 15 minutes later than listed below.

Weather Policy:
This event will go on rain or shine, however if the weather presents unsafe conditions for guests attending the festival the event may close to ensure guest safety, as that is top priority. Please visit our website, social media, or call us at 209.373.1400 in the case of extreme weather conditions and/or slippery road/surface conditions for details on cancelations and rescheduled tickets. Re-entry is NOT permitted for Stockton Lantern Festival. Entry into Stockton Lantern Festival will stop at 9PM and the lanterns go dark at 10PM.
