Music & Dance Extravaganza
Overview
Exciting Collaboration Alert!
For the first time in years, the Dance and Music Departments at San Joaquin Delta College are coming together in a powerful and long-overdue collaboration, directed by Valerie Gnassounou, Chair of the Dance Department.
The Music and Dance Extravaganza will feature live performances by the Percussion Ensemble, directed by Brian Kendrick, Chair of the Music Department, and the string duet is coached by Dr. Myriam Cottin, violin and viola professor and director of the String Orchestra at San Joaquin Delta College
Talented dance students will take the stage and perform to live music in a truly dynamic and rare experience that brings both art forms to life.
We are also honored to highlight the incredible talents of Delta faculty artists, choreographers and vocalists from our community, including Brooke Mathe, Nicole Manker, Philip Agyapong, Jacqueline Sandoval, Valerie Gnassounou (for dance/ Choreography) and Elaine Hanley and Kathrine Jantz (voice), as well as performers from Celebration Arts and Yameci Dance Company. Their contributions bring depth, heart, and cultural richness to this collaborative event.
This performance is more than a showcase—it's a celebration of Delta college's talents displaying creativity, artistry, a sense of community, and connection through the power of music and dance
