Stopped by just to check this place out. We went there a lot years ago. The gal working there was very nice.
Visited Oasis for the first time, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Easy access to the canal and Old River, plus they give military/first responder discounts for the launch fee (drops to $10). Very friendly, and the store is nicely stocked with all your fishing needs. Will definitely be our go to spot for the weekend boating trip!
This marina gives one pretty good access to the river, and there are several areas along the river to fish, as I saw people fishing. The actual marina is accessible from along the raised road on the levee by the river, though the launch area looks tight but good enough and provides launching access easily. The road to the location is on top of the raised side of the river and levees so it gives you great views along the way and of course would be in a boat. The building structures housing the location has seen good times. Over all you will gain great access to the river from here.
We have not launched here in a while. It is nice to see they have paved the driveway down to the parking area as well as the road back up. The store clerk was friendly when we paid for our launch.
The Sea Lions are killing Lots of fish in the Delta along with aquatic vegetation killing pellets! Aquatic Vegetation grows because "nature" needs to filter all the pollution from pesticides and other man made products that enter our water system. Killing the aquatic vegetation with poisonous pellets is Not the Answer. They will come back even stronger and harder to kill. Why are the Leaders of California not asking this simple question, "how will this impact the environment?" Pictured are Sea Lions in Discovery Bay creating shade for the fish to hide in... these creatures are smart! No harvest is scheduled to reduce the number of Sea lions either. Sad, when Killer Whales are unable to do the job! These are all signs of "unbalanced nature"! Tunnels and speed trains are great if the same efforts would be equally given to our greatest California resource, as well = our Natural environment.
