It was classic real food and service. Nice have a serice dog that is always with me and they gave him water because he was panting. I asked for a chicken breast sliced no seasoning for Little bit ( service dog) and they served him a nice moist breast he loved it. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with great personal service, I highly recommend eating here. I give them 41/2 stars out of three lol
Nena’s is always a solid choice for Mexican food. I go there pretty frequently. The beef enchiladas plate is my go to order. The homemade tortillas are great. I wish they had a wider selection of beers but they have the Mexican staples and that’s probably all they will ever have. On days with the mariachi band it can be quite loud in there. So if you plan on conversation with your group it can be a challenge. The parking lot fills up quickly in the evening. Street parking to me is easier.
Loved it and when I return to the area I m going back. Generous portions and a good sized menu. Chips and salsa were replenished. Views of the water in the back of the house. The only downside was the crunchy tacos. They laid them in the lettuce garnish or perhaps too close to the beans. (This happens at a lot of different places) I can't remember which The shell was so soggy on the bottom when I got them they just fell apart. I used chips from the basket and the tops of the shells to scoop up meat and rice, beans . Is that awesome? No. Did it taste awesome yes ...so substance over style.
I stopped going here for a couple of years because after covid, they started having horrible customer service. The food wasn't up to par, especially when the owner wasn't there. I decided to go to lunch with a friend and give it a try again. I was pleased to see the owner was there, first good sign. We sat at the bar, and even though the waiter/bartender was short staffed. He had a great attitude/service and took care of us promptly. Our food was great and of course the tortillas were tasty as always! I'm pleased to say that Nena's is back!!! I will definitely be back more often . Hope it stays like this like before for a long time!
