Tucked right off the road in a small shopping center on Thornton Road, it's known by most north side Stockton locals as one of the best places in town to get homemade tamales. They are made fresh, so make sure to ask what kinds they have to offer. On any given day they have chicken, cheese with jalapeño, pork and beef.
Their carnitas are also made fresh to order in house as soft tacos, crunchy tacos or take 1, 2, or 3 pounds of cooked meat home to make your own. You can even buy sopes already made or you can take some home to make yourself. The next time you don't want to cook try one of Maria's family meals. It comes with tortillas, rice, beans and salsa. Today was my first time coming in with my honey. This place is great, I wish I would of took photos. Super organized and clean. This carniceria has a little bet of everything! Great quality meats, produce and the prices very reasonable. I just made asada tacos and rice. The meat was fire! I recommend stopping in. There is a full menu of food that you can order for pick up, family meals and more. I will come back and try a few things, that's for sure!
Stop by here on a crazy windy morning coming back from fishing. Service here was pretty fast and prompt. Bought some tamales 🫔 and a bacon breakfast burrito for my son. Tamales were good but on a smaller portion size. Same with the breakfast burrito. Heard a lot of good things about this spot. It's was okay.
First time visiting and 5/5 🌟! The pork verde sopes were amazing and rice and beans had great authentic flavors. Can’t wait to come back and try again! Store was clean and they have Apple Pay.
Where this place is located you can't get further north of Stockton, but to be honest, they have everything you need if you're looking for a good carniceria, with fresh Mexican food, salsa's, quesos, etc. I'm here almost every weekend in the summertime, they have the best carne asada!
They were wonderful! Able to purchase a dozen tamales on Christmas Eve! Tamales were delicious.
