This isn’t the worst gym but I won’t be signing up because it doesn’t seem worth the cost & distance for me. I didn’t have such a great experience with the front staff and the facility seemed dirty (it was only 9AM). When I asked to sign up for the free trial the staff insisted I had to pay $15 for a day pass. Every single gym that I’ve been to always offers a free day trial and I had seen this on the In-Shape website. After back and forth I showed the person and they acted like they never heard about it before. After another staff member confirmed it was an option, we proceeded forward. I never received an email after filling out the form so a note to corporate is check your information system because it sucks!! I should note the other staff member was professional and nice. If they were new maybe I’d understand but it just seemed weird and handled poorly. How do you not know about the free trial pass? That’s been a thing forever. After finally “signing up” they didn’t offer or mention a tour. Take it with a grain of salt, I didn’t ask for one because at that point I just wanted to get my workout in. The facility had a lot of cardio machines and free weights but I was not really impressed with the weight machines. Also the sauna is co-ed which I don’t personally care for (as a woman). Overall this is probably a good option if you live nearby and need a pool, there’s a lot of classes on the schedule and the facility is large. But it was not for me.
I registered for In Shape like two weeks ago and I have to admit I was intimidated by all the in shape people. So I busted out my 1970 gym sweats and bit the bullet and went for it. I have a long way to go to reach my goal weight of 170 from 245lbs. But I'll get there. The gym is big and roomy, it has a pool and every conceivable piece of equipment a person would need to reach their goals. The staff is friendly and helpful and so are my fellow gym members, the gym has a place where moms can leave their kids while they workout and a lot of different classes you can sign up for. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
Staff is super friendly!!!! I joined because I needed a pool. So far, great experience. My only complaint is bathroom and shower could be a little more well kept. Also, if you are absent minded like me and leave things behind like jackets, waterbottles or ear bud holders...don't expect them back. People at this gym don't seem to be honest and return things to lost and found. My fault for expecting it to be like a community. AGAIN...STAFF IS AMAZING though. They always have a cute brain teaser at front desk🥰
