Limited parking, small store. Came here for the award winning sandwiches and so did many others. About a dozen of us stuffed into the shop waiting for our turn to order from the deli and another line to pay. We got 4 sandwiches, a small side of broccoli pasta salad, and a small French bread loaf. All were delicious, especially the broccoli pasta salad, and well worth the special visit and wait. Staff were working as quickly as they could to facilitate the orders. Everyone was very friendly, even other customers making room for others to shop and get what they needed or noting the order that they came in as they had to shuffle around in the small space. Lots of specialty Italian items, you'll sure find what you need here. Hope to return soon.
I lived in the little house across the street 60 years ago. My five sisters and a brother would go over to the bakery often and hang out with the bakers. I was the oldest, so they let me help out sometimes. I will be coming to visit the store next week from Wake-Forest NC and can't wait to see it again. I'm going to be hungry and will surely be eating more than I should. GOOD MEMORIES!
They serve molinaris meats so that alone should give it 5 stars but the service is good and it’s an old school family joint that’s been passed down the years. I would come out here twice to three times a year until my friend moved out of there but I do miss it. Recommend doing an assortment of Italian meats, milk bread, pepper Jack cheese with turkey instead of salami. That’s my go to.
Wonderful historical gem of Stockton. Beautiful old-time neighborhood market. There is so much to look at while shopping and waiting for your food order. And the food is excellent as it always has been. Love their bread that has not wavered from the past. Definitely recommend if you have not had a chance to visit.
We were greeted right away as we walked into this small neighborhood corner store. We drove from Elk Grove to try one of their highly recommended sandwiches. The pastrami was excellent and the portion of meat exceeded our expectations. Ordering is a well organized process from the moment you walk in. Just pick up an order form by the entrance and select your sandwich. Your form will be taken by one of the smiling sandwich makers and the wait is very short. Make the trip to this neighborhood gem in Stockton.
