Overview
University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music is the oldest conservatory in the United States that's west of the Mississippi River. With its talented students, skilled and dedicated faculty, distinguished visitors, and diverse range of high quality performances, the Conservatory of Music on the beautiful University of the Pacific campus is well worth a visit.
Each year the Conservatory of Music at University of the Pacific produces over 130 events including performances by the University Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensembles, University Bands and Choirs. In addition, our nationally award winning Pacific Opera Theatre delights audiences with a fully staged opera that is both accessible and affordable. These large ensemble performances complement well the small faculty ensemble concerts, faculty recitals, guest artists, and amazing student recitals. After moving from San Jose to its current location in Stockton in 1924, the Conservatory has served as a cultural resource for Stockton and the greater San Joaquin Valley. Each event is not only a learning experience for our talented young performers, but also a chance for music lovers to enjoy quality live music right here in Stockton.
