Buds is a Stockton staple. Food was really really good. Has the shrimp scampi. Shrimp were prepared nicely and had a lot of flavor. Bread was good. Waitress whose name I forget was really friendly.
Comfortable casual atmosphere, food is consistent, staff friendly and attentive. Buds has been a go to restaurant when dining with people who don't like seafood or can't eat non-hallal meat. The Buds beef is a favorite for non-meat eaters and there are plenty of seafood selections for those with meat restrictions.
My girl had the blackend red snapper and I had the seafood combo. Her snapper was over cooked and tough. My dish was good weird calamari as they use the body and or think portion. sourdough was good. Clam chowder was OK. They didn't bring any crackers with it. I did like my fish and shrimp. The place is nice and the wait staff is very good. I went on a weekday so it wasn't busy.
Tried the tuna melt it was alright, will not order again. I would go again ONLY if they have the full menu. I went on Sundays and I believe they were transitioning from breakfast to lunch/dinner. Also tried the pasta of the day which came with shrimp, it was good but I rather choose from the full menu.
